Masterchef Final

And so it ends for me. I had an unbelievable time on #rtemc and really appreciate all the messages of support I received. While I’m disappointed, I’m not surprised that I did not win. But what an amazing experience I had. I’m happy with what I cooked last night considering it was the first time I attempted the dishes. Hard to believe that none of us had any chance to practice those dishes.

I’m going to use my website www.terrylyons.ie and my Facebook page to continue my love affair with food. My plan is to take a break over the Christmas period and then look at what opportunities are out there. While I might not work in a top end kitchen, my ambition is to be involved in the food business in one way or another. I’m open to offers!!

Highlights for me were the Nathan Outlaw master class and cooking for the Michelin chefs. On top of that I made 15 great friends. Most importantly, I re-connected with so many people from my past, in Castlebar, Mayo, college and work, even those who are living in different parts of the world.

Well done to Tamarin. She’s an amazing cook and person. And I’m truly gutted for Nicha. It was tough to watch last night as it unravelled for her. She is a role model to all of us. And thanks to all the other contestants. Ye have thought me so much.

Thanks to Brother Hubbard www.brotherhubbard.ie on Capel Street for having me in their kitchen for the past few weeks. Check out their amazing Xmas scones. And thanks to Dave Rice and the team at Cooks Academy www.cooksacademy.com for also having me in to help with some of the classes. Thanks to Dylan McGrath for believing in me and pushing me the extra 20%.

Finally, thanks to my wife Niamh, daughter Maisy and our families for their ongoing support.
